HOUSE MOVING GUIDE - Moving Day

• Make sure that your removal company has a full address and clear directions to your new property, and that they are able to access the new property on the day of the move.
• Be on hand when the removal driver arrives and throughout the loading process. If you can't be there, make sure someone can direct the removal staff (make sure the driver has, in writing, the name and phone number of that person)
• Check on the condition of your possessions as they are loaded
• Make a final tour of your home. See that nothing is overlooked.
• Lock all windows and doors, and turn off all switches
• Check on the condition of your goods as they are off-loaded.

Common sense plays a major role in a successful move. Plan carefully and start packing about a month before you move. The longer you give yourself, the less stressful time you will have.
