HOUSE MOVING GUIDE - 1 Day Before Moving

• Pack your own "welcome pack". This should contain essential items for use in those first hours in your new home. Suggested items are: mugs, kettle, milk, tea, coffee, soap, detergent, washing up bowl, mop, brush, dustpan and brush, toilet paper, light bulbs, cloths, bin liners, fuses, plugs, matches, torch, screwdriver / tools, any necessary medicines, bedding, food and snacks to satisfy the family. Take this box with you or have the driver load it last and unload first.
• This is usually the day packing is done by external removers, so make sure all appropriate items are available for packing. Make sure all packing services have been performed before you sign for them.
• Make sure that any fridges/freezers are defrosted completely, and are clean and dry.
• Take your pets to their temporary accommodation if they are not accompanying you during the move.
• Make sure your pets have the contact numbers/addresses changed on any tags that they may wear.
• Carry out any last minute cleaning that may be necessary.
• Charge up mobile phones and any spare batteries that are available.
